130525 Advice To T-ARA N4 ‘Be Courteous to Fans in America, Please’

T-ARA N4 left for the United States on May 23, two days earlier than scheduled due to a last-minute guest performance request from hip hop artist Wiz Khalifa who is holding a concert in Las Vegas on May 26.

With hopes and worries undoubtedly higher than ever, T-ARA N4 will, in a way, represent K-pop and, furthermore, musicians across Asia. Aside from controversies they have been involved in or compatibility of their music in a different market in the United States, one point of concern is their attitude and stage manner toward the fans.

On May 11, T-ARA N4 took part in 2013 Dream Concert in which 50,000 fans in attendance to see various idol artists sang along to most of the performances in harmony. Compared to just a decade ago when fans of rival idol groups would curse and get in unsightly scuffles with one another, the maturity of fans has definitely improved.

Also, unlike the worries of many spectators, the audience was incredibly receptive toward the performance of “Country Diary” by T-ARA N4, who has recently been on a downward spiral due to numerous scandals that have made them an easy target for public criticism. No booing. No silence. Just applause.

At the conclusion of the song, however, the members of T-ARA N4 quickly exited the stage after a short “Thank you.” It was a stark contrast to all the other performers who tried to have at least a short word with the audience.

Perhaps, T-ARA had their reasons. They may have been instructed to leave the stage as soon as possible to prevent any booing or backlash. Plus, they had just received Chris Brown’s request to meet with them in his studio in the United States. So, understandably, they were in a hurry. But, of course, they had a minute to spare.

At the last press conference prior to their departure for the United States, T-ARA N4 was asked whether they are rushing into performing in the United States especially because the public has been so critical and unrelenting toward them. They responded, “This is a rare opportunity. From now on, what is important for us is to be truthful in everything we do. Honesty and transparency are the answer to all the rumors and controversies we have been faced with. Please root for us.”

We hope the best for T-ARA N4 in the United States and wish that they will treat the local fans with good stage manners.
