Written By Regina Kim on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 | 5:11 AM

T-ara held its first official performance as six in Japan.

Many local media outlets, including Sankei Sports, reported on July 14 that "the Korean girl group T-ara held its first live concert at Tokyo′s Budokan on July 13, in celebration of the release of its second albumTreasure Box."

The reports mostly concentrated on how the performance was the group′s first as six, and also its first with Qri as its new leader.

Member Ah Reum left T-ara on July 10 after expressing her wishes to go solo, leaving only the original six of T-ara - Qri, Bo Ram, So Yeon, Eun Jung, Hyo Min and Ji Yeon.

At the concert this day, T-ara sang a total of 20 songs, including the promotional single titled Target from its new album. 9,000 fans were there to watch the group again launch a new phase of its career.

Qri said as the new leader of the group onstage, "I had so much fun today. We′ll work hard to help T-ara shine brighter in the future."

T-ara has been changing leaders with the release of every new album.

In the meantime, the group is currently gathering songs for its upcoming album in Korea, and will release it by 2014 at the latest.

130715 T-ara's Soyeon Passes The Leadership Baton Over To Q-ri

So in what is now becoming an almost yearly event, T-ara has gotten themselves a new leader as Soyeon passes on the baton to Q-ri in the latest of changes being made to Core Contents Media‘s artist line up.

As we reported previously when Areum was leaving the team, Core Contents Media was planning several changes to their artist line up in an effort to rekindle interest in their groups. The latest of these adjustments is a leader change for their most important group with T-ara’s Q-ri taking the leader role from previous leader Soyeon. The latest change will be the 5th leader change for the group with previous leaders being Eun Jung, Boram, Hyomin and So Yeon.

A Core Contents Media official states reconfirms previous reports saying that “WithAreum pursuing a solo career, T-ara will be carrying out their activities as a team of 6.” In regards to the latest leader change they state that “With an upcoming comeback in the later half of this year, we changed the leader from Soyeon to Q-ri to signify a new start (for the group).” They also made note that the “Leader changes for T-ara have nothing to do with the previous rumours of conflict (within the group)” and that the leader change is the latest in a policy that calls for the members to take turns being the leader.

The last leader change for T-ara occured in 2011 when Hyomin passed on the title to Soyeon. At that time T-ara was starting their promotions for Lovey-Dovey and was starting their push into the Japanese market. A lot has changed in the last 2 years and Q-ri now has a significant task ahead of her to try and revitalize the group following a significant period of negativity.

130716 T-ara’s New Leader Qri Reveals Increased Beauty

T-ara’s member Qri revealed a cute self-camera photo.

On July 13, Qri posted on her Twitter, “I’m touched and energiezed” along with a picture.

In the picture, Qri is posing for the camera with members Boram and Soyeon. Qri had accentuated eyes with makeup, revealing her doll-like beauty.

Qri had appeared as the leader for the first time at T-ara’s concert held on this day in Budokan, Japan.

Internet users who saw this commented, “Qri got prettier after she became the leader,” “Things changed but let’s cheer up and keep running,” and “The concert must have finished well.”

On July 10, T-ara’s member Ahreum left and the leader changed to Qri.

130715 T-ARA Agency States, ‘We are Worried about Ahreum’

T-ARA’s agency opened up about Ahreum’s withdrawal from the group.

On July 15, a statement about Ahreum’s withdrawal was revealed through MBC “Good Day.”

Ahreum left the group on July 10 and decide to go solo. However, many rumors about why she left the group began to pop up online.

130713 T-ara That Ahreum Left… Concert Tickets Are Only 1,000 Yen ($10)?

Written By Regina Kim on Sunday, July 14, 2013 | 9:07 PM

As Ahreum left the group, the ticket fees of T-ara’s Budokan concert are also catching attention.

Yesterday, one online community forum captured a Japanese auctin website that has been selling T-ara’s Budokan 1st anniversary concert tickets since July 1. According to the website, the concert tickets are originally 8,400 yen, which is about 84 dollars.

But with the concert only few days away, the concert tickets started selling at an unbelievably low price. This seemed to happen because they weren’t selling at regular price.

The starting price of the ticket was 1,000 yen to 5,000 yen. So the price that the tickets are being sold as of now are anywhere around 2,000 yen to 5,000 yen, but not more. Even the seats that are the closest to the stage are being sold at the same price.

This is a very rare occasion in Japanese auctions. For CNBLUE’s upcoming concert in August, the starting price of the tickets are at least 11,500 yen.

Internet users who saw this commented, “The Budokan concert hall is big so it was probably hard to fill up all the seats to begin with,” “T-ara must be so sad,” “I knew this would happen,” and “It would have been hundreds of dollars for the premium seats usually.”

130713 Areum’s departure raises questions

Netizens raised questions yesterday about an announcement on Wednesday that Areum of the girl group T-ara will no longer be a part of the group after being a member for about a year.

After reading a post that Areum put on her social network service about two weeks ago, fans wonder whether she is stepping down from the team due to any sort of trouble with other members as well as whether the drop-out has been long planned.

“I seriously have nothing more to lose”, she said on her Instagram.

“I’m not even scared of dying either”.

Along with the post, she uploaded a photo of herself wearing a hat that covers one of her eyes.

Such doubts came after former member Hwayoung left the group in August 2012. Rumors at the time said that Hwayoung had been estranged within the group.

However, the group’s agency previously said that Areum wanted to pursue her own music career and that’s why she’s going solo.

“Don’t forget Areum of T-ara, and thank you for the love you have shown me”, said Areum.

“You will be able to see a much better and cooler version of Areum, but never forget the performance and the songs I gave as a part of T-ara“.

The group will not have any new members, according to the agency. However, T-ara‘s subunit group, T-ara N4, will have a new member named Dani.

130713 Areum aims to stop rumors

Areum of girl group T-ara tried to stop spreading rumors regarding her drop-out, which was first announced on Wednesday.

Many netizens have questioned whether Areum is stepping down due to troubles with other members, but Areum denied such doubts.

“You didn’t see it in person, and you didn’t hear it from me, and can you do this or not?” she said on her Instagram page.

“I’ll buy you a meal, so can you please contact me directly if you know who said such things?”

And then she added that she won’t try to explain the whole situation.

“I don’t want things to end on bad terms”, she said.

“Don’t try to interrupt other people’s lives when you don’t know, promise?”

She said she won’t mention this again as people would just think whatever they want to think anyway. Finally, she left a warning note that no one should try to interrupt anyone at her agency, Core Contents Media.

Earlier, the agency said that Areum decided to leave the group and go solo to pursue her own music career.

Meanwhile, other remaining members of T-ara left Incheon International Airport on Thursday to perform in Japan yesterday and today.

130712 Ahreum's Out, T-ara To Change, And Other Disappointing News From CCM

Written By Regina Kim on Friday, July 12, 2013 | 10:11 PM

Earlier this week, Core Contents Media, also known as CCM and home to Hallyu flower girls T-ara, announced that the group’s newest member Ahreum will in fact be leaving the group to pursue a solo career. This premature departure comes as shocking news to many due to the fact that Ahreum was not officially apart of T-ara until June 2012 and still only recently appeared in Korean T-ara activities with “Day by Day” and “Sexy Love” promotions last year and the sub-unit T-ara N4 this past April.

The news is strange and unwarranted. And more so given the past year in T-ara related news and scandal.

As the dust settled around Hwayoung‘s contract termination, CCM continued to egg followers on with the promise of two new additions to T-ara, Ahreum and Dani. Much uproar continued as it was revealed that Dani was in fact fourteen years old at the time of the news’ release, as well as demands to CCM for further and more concrete explanation for Hwayoung’s sudden departure. The issue blew up and only ended badly for everyone; T-ara was forced to take a break (a break for T-ara, wow) from the spotlight and CCM was forced to stay out of the tabloids, all for the sake of saving face. Meanwhile, whereas Hwayoung was pulled from the stage and Dani was given her fifteen seconds of fame here and there, Ahreum had yet to appear with the official T-ara stamp.

It wasn’t until it was announced that she would appear in be the latest addition to the T-ara N4 sub-unit alongside the three most popular T-ara members, Jiyeon,Eunjung, and Hyomin, that Ahreum finally popped up the official radar.

But her glory as a member of T-ara was short-lived, even though, according to TV Report, CCM had plans to take T-ara N4′s “Jeonwon Diary” stateside with five different versions, with by raps Chris Brown, Ray J, Wiz Khalifa, and Snoop Doggthat were supposed to release in June. Whether or not the decision was made on the CCM chopping block or of Ahreum’s own will is still a bit up in the air, but Ahreum herself seems content and optimistic about a foray into solo-dom. In this post-Ahreum phase, T-ara will promote with their six original members, Eunjung, Jiyeon, Hyomin, Soyeon, Q-ri, and Boram, for the time being. Until of course baby Dani hits puberty or something.

Many have been quick to blame the T-ara members as bullies, a name they supposedly earned themselves last year when the members were accused of bullying former member Hwayoung. Others, however, have managed to spread the rumors that Ahreum has been suffering form spiritual possessions and other paranormal disorders and that this is why she is being forced to leave T-ara. Both ideas I’m sure are untrue. Ahreum herself came out and posted on her Instagram,

Come on~ Don’t stick yourself into another person’s life when you don’t even know the full story. You didn’t even see it with your own eyes and you didn’t hear it from me personally. Is that okay to do? This isn’t right. I’ll treat you to a meal, so please contact me directly to tell me who started this talk. I don’t want it to end badly. I won’t explain. I’m okay as long as I know it’s not true. I won’t say this twice. You’ll think what you want anyway since it’s not your life. But as Ahreum, who can’t live without her dreams, I’m posting this bravely. From today forward, don’t bother my boss or agency members/family.

The whole T-ara debacle, spanning from all the way to last year until now, has truly been disheartening given that it seemed that T-ara had really begun to take off on the grand stage of K-pop and Hallyu. It’s even worse being a T-ara fan and having to suffer with the constant mismanagement that comes out CCM as well as their pathetic official statements which more of than not explain absolutely nothing about what everyone is confused about.

Like I said, I don’t think the other members bullied Ahreum out of T-ara–in fact, with the ways things are turning up, it seems like Ahreum had few qualms about leaving T-ara at all, and neither of those things surprise me. She, alongside Dani, has been one of those empty promises dangling above the name T-ara that has come off as haphazard since the day it was officially announced. Fortunately for her, it seems as though she saw her career with T-ara as being neglible (and let’s be honest, her contributions since her addition have been pretty much that) and chose to go for something worth her time and effort. And I’m not sad in the least to see Ahreum go; I can honestly say I’m glad she’s jumping ship.

In the past year CCM has managed to blow a huge hole in the T-ara ship, and the group’s relevance and good name are sinking fast. To make matters worse, CCM has also stated that T-ara will continue to undergo member changes and that Ahreum’s position in T-ara N4 will be replaced by Dani. Eventually, I think, or something. I don’t know, her current status is still ‘training’ so…Also, if you didn’t think things at CCM couldn’t get any more cray, they’ve also announced that not only T-ara but The SEEYA, 5Dolls, and SPEED face structural changes as well. That’s pretty much more than half the current CCM roster scheduled for new member developments.

It’s not to my knowledge that any other group besides T-ara is raking in the big numbers for CCM, but these drastic changes seem to me a major indication of mismanagement and project misguidance that span company-wide. Still, I don’t know if that makes me feel any better as a T-ara fan. In fact, I just feel worse. So much, worse, I can’t talk about this anymore. Just bring me back the Absolute days and let’s call it even?

Not a good year for CCM, I’d say.

T-ARA Ahreum Leaves Group Due to Illness? 'Normal Activities Not in the Cards for Now'

There have been many predictions as to why T-ARA Ahreum has left the group.

One local media stated, “She is leaving the group due to personal issues. It has been heard that she is having some sort of mental illness that will make it hard for her to do any normal promotions any time soon.”

The article continued by stating that during their U.S. performance, she suddenly experienced a strong aura that made it impossible for her to hold a normal conversation. After experiencing this mental illness, she even disappeared for about 2 weeks.

They continued by saying that her family had taken many different measures such as exorcisms and such in order to chase away the bad vibes, but there was no effect. They decided that she would have to give up group activities and go into a solo artist or actor for the future. As of now their agency has not revealed an official statement about this yet.

For now, T-ARA will continue as a group with 6 members.

Internet users are very curious as to her reason for leaving the group.

Earlier on June 29, she left a strange message on her twitter that gained attention. She wrote, “I have nothing to lose. I’m not scared of dying either. My first teaser.”

130711 Core Contents Media Tells Reporters To Stop Publishing ‘Rumors And Guesses’ About Why Ah Reum Is Leaving T-ara

Core Contents Media is asking reporters to stop publishing what they are calling "rumors and guesses" about the reason for Ah Reum's split from the K-pop girl group T-ara.

Executives from the online record label Core Contents Media are asking reporters to stop publishing what they are calling “rumors and guesses” about the reason for Ah Reum’s split from the K-pop girl group T-ara.

“We ask you to refrain from releasing any more articles containing guesses about the changes to come to T-ara,” read a Core Contents Media statement from Thursday, according to eNEWS.

Many of the published reports about Ah’s announcement on Wednesday that she is going solo, have speculated that it was tension between the singer and her T-ara bandmates that led to her departure, a charge Core Contents Media denies.

“Some of Ah Reum’s posts on SNS have been reported on as proof of discord in the team, but if you’ve watched the video that Ah Reum left on her fan cafe, you’ll know that such things have never happened,” the statement read.

“Despite this, many articles have been written on the matter.”

According to Core Contents Media, Ah has been personally hurt by some of the erroneous reporting.

“Ah Reum is currently suffering from the articles that have been blowing up a decision she made to show a new side of herself,” the record label’s statement read.

“Her decision was made through an agreement with her agency for her solo activities. She′s been feeling pressure on the attention that has been trained on her through such articles. We sincerely hope you will refrain from releasing any more articles on rumors and guesses.”

Ah had her own cryptic way of telling T-ara fans she was starting a new chapter in her life.

“Everyone, right now you are seeing T-ara’s Ah Reum who evolved as Lee Ah Reum, the mystery girl,” Ah posted to her Instagram account on Wednesday.

“From the moment I put up these words, I will show you the truth and the reality of the current situation. Whatever the reason, I want to thank all the people that know me and I will shine the best of my image to you little by little.”

“From now on, you will get to see new sides of me, more than just my eyes and hands in this picture,” she added. “Now, from here on, I invite you all to the mysterious world of Lee Ah Reum.”

130711 Core Contents Media announces line-up changes in T-ara, 5Dolls, The SeeYa and SPEED

She is set to focus on hiphop music, as well as pop, ballads and acting. T-ara will remain with six members and will continue promotions starting with their Budoken Concert on the 11th.

Meanwhile, T-ara’s project group, T-ara N4 will have a new member in the form of Dani. She is described to have lived in the United States and fluent in English and will join album activities in the United States first, then locally.

5Dolls, on the other hand, will gain two new members by July following Shannon and Jihyun’s departure. Shannon will return to training as a solo artist while Jihyun will make her debut with another group. Filling their spots in the group are Cho Seunghee and The Seeya’s Yeonkyung. Yeonkyung will be active in both The SeeYa and 5Dolls.

5Dolls will be returning to the music scene with a retro-disco track “Soulmate #1,” which was composed by hit maker Double Sidekick.
