140624 Former T-ara member, Hwayoung, to star in SBS one-act play; “Mother’s Choice”

Former T-ara member, Hwayoung, will be starring in an SBS special one-act play titled “Mother’s Choice” with Oh Hyunkyung and Ji Eunsung.

“Mother’s Choice” will be a drama about the journey of a mother (played by Oh Hyunkyung) who stands up for her son (played by Ji Eunsung), who has committed a crime against a female student (played by Hwayoung).

This will be Hwayoung’s first step as an actress upon leaving T-ara in 2010 and signing with the new agency, Wellmade StarM.

“Mother’s Choice” will start filming on the 7th of July, and air in mid July.

Fans, Hwa Young, will be happy to know the former T-ara member is doing well and was recently spotted attending one of her best friend’s concert.

On the September 17 broadcast of Y-STAR’s Live Star News, the show was able to spot Hwa Young at the SISTAR concert.

Hwa Young, who is close friends with SISTAR’s Dasom, was seen wearing glasses and little makeup at the September 15 SISTAR concert. The cameras followed her after the concert where she greeted the cameras but avoided a question asking if she wanted to return to the stage.


She lastly added, “I’m doing well. I will contact you soon. Thank you,” before leaving the scene.

120913 Hwayoung and Hyoyoung went to a music practice studio

Last month on the 14th, "Dispatch" caught Hwayoung going to a music practice studio. She was also with her twin sister, Hyoyoung, member of 5dolls. The girls had umbrellas because it was a rainy day, but Hwayoung and Hyoyoung were at a music academy located in Nonhyeon-dong.

Both of them looked relaxed wearing shorts and short sleeves. Attention was on Hwayoung's ankle, which was missing it's bandage. She looked fully recovered from her leg injury. After a 2-hour practice, the girls went home.

On the phone with a reporter, Hwayoung said she is continuously and steadily studying music but lacks a lot still. She said she's putting in a lot of effort and will begin to practice harder.

News of former T-ara member Hwayoung‘s latest public appearance is stirring much interest amongst fans and netizens alike.

On September 10th, hip hop musician SOOL J wrote to Hwayoung via Twitter saying, “Hello, this isSOOL J. Thank you so much for coming out to Freestyle Day. It was so hectic that I just barely managed to say hello. I hope it was a great day for you, and I will look forward to amazing rap and music from you!”

Hwayoung dropped by ‘FREESTYLE DAY 2012‘ held at AX-KOREA in Seoul September 9th. It is a hip hop festival that takes place once a year, and the best rappers in the country put on lavish freestyle rap battles.

It seems as though Hwayoung who is reportedly studying rap stopped by the event to observe her seniors’ performances.

Ahead of this, Hwayoung had also written via her own Twitter page September 6th, “I know I’m still lacking in a lot of ways, but I am really practicing to get better at writing lyrics! I am working hard so that I don’t disappoint all of you, so please wait for me a little while longer, and please look forward to a more mature [Hwayoung].”

Former T-ara member Hwayoung has updated fans with a rap clip.

Hwayoung tweeted on the 6th, “Though I’m still lacking in a lot of things, I’m practicing writing lyrics. I’m working hard to meet my fans’ expectations and to not get weeded out, so please wait a bit for me to return with a new, matured image. Today’s T-ara’s comeback performance, please give them lots of support.”

She then linked fans to a 51-second sound clip of her rapping. The track is composed by Lishbeats and the lyrics were written by Hwayoung herself.

In related news, T-ara is coming back with “Sexy Love“, the title track of their 7th mini-album ‘Mirage‘.

Since the announcement of Hwayoung’s expulsion from the group, T-ara has been facing serious public backlash. After keeping her silence for nearly a month, the former member shared her concerns and remained supportive of the group.

On August 28, Hwayoung tweeted, “Seeing articles regarding Eunjung-unnie being taken out of her drama makes my heart uneasy. Although there were some confrontations in the past while I was promoting as a T-ara member, with all of this happening, my heart is in pain. And I feel bad for the amount of hurt all of this may have caused.”

“However, when we lived together there were also very happy times; let bygones be bygones and let’s strive to put smiles on our faces once again. Everyone has showed so much love to T-ara [before], so because of this accident and for causing a lot of distress and worry to everyone, I apologize.”

T-ARA's 'bulling explanation' video has been revealed.
Today, a video titled, 'T-ARA Bullying Explanation' was found on Pandora TV.

In the video, Hwayoung and Jiyeon are seen dancing and hugging each other while doing volunteer work. These scenes seem to go against the 'bullying rumors' that have been going around.

The first picture is from a fan club meeting last month. In the picture, Jiyeon and Hwayoung are hugging while Hyomin was MCing the event. The second picture is when Jiyeon's father comes for a surprise visit, making Jiyeon cry. Hwayoung was seen stroking her hair and comforting her. The third picture is of Jiyeon and Hwayoung at a volunteer event. The last picture is of them at a recording and Soyeon is feeding Hwayoung snacks.

T-ARA had been accused of bullying and having problems with Hwayoung. Hwayoung was also dismissed from the group on July 30, creating much chaos and controversy.

This past Saturday, CEO Kim Kwang Soo wrote a handwritten apology to T-ARA's fans for causing this issue.
