121215 T-ara’s So Yeon Says She is Grateful for Even the Applause From Fans

T-ara So Yeon’s meaningful comment is attracting attention.

T-ara attended the 2012 Melon Music Awards on December 14 at the Gymnastics Stadium in Seoul’s Olympic Park where T-ara was one of the groups who received the Top 10 Awards.

Standing on stage to collect the award, So Yeon shared, “We are thankful for even the applause you send T-ara but to give us an award like this, we are truly grateful.” T-ara also performed its this, Sexy Love and Lovey-Dovey that day.

T-ara had quite the eventful year the past year as comments made online by some of the members were interpreted as bullying towards former member Hwayoung, who ended up leaving the group.

In addition to T-ara, other recipients of the Top 10 awards were B2ST, BuskerBusker, 2NE1, Big Bang, SISTAR, IU, Infinite, Psy and Huh Gak.=

121218 T-ara Turns Down a Lucrative Offer to Star in Alcohol Commercial

 
T-ara announced that it had turned down a 100 million won-worth offer from an alcohol company, and that it will continue to turn down such offers in the future.

A rep from T-ara′s agency Core Contents Media told enews on December 18, "We recently turned down politely a giant offer from a certain alcohol company which offered to pay hundreds of millions of won."

Although all of the members, except the group′s youngest member Ah Reum at age 19, are adults, the group decided that it would be inappropriate for it to star in a commercial for alcohol considering how it wields a great influence over teenagers. It took into consideration how teenagers often imitate the dance, songs, fashion and actions of idol stars, and decided that their appearance in a commercial could promote drinking among them.

The T-ara members said through their agency, "We will continue to decline appearances in alcohol commercials that can promote drinking among teenagers."

121211 T-ara Under Fire for Alleged Hypocrisy for Advertising Gambling Game

T-ara is drawing criticism for actions which some believe to be hypocritical.

The girl group recently made headlines for having claimed to have turned down a lucrative offer to promote an alcohol brand, and would not serve as spokesmodels for alcohol drinks in the future either due to the potential influence it could have on minors.

While their words and action drew initial praise from many, the group is now coming under fire.

On December 19, a user posted a picture on an online community board under the title, ‘T-ara Pachinko advertising’.

Included was a picture of a print ad which showed the T-ara members serving as the models for a pachinko game in Japan. The picture quickly became viral with many netizens expressing their criticism on the group for what they perceived were hypocritical actions.

Pachinko is a Japanese mechanical game that can be played for recreation but is much more frequently used as a gambling device.

One disappointed netizen wrote, “T-ara claimed to have turned down offers to advertise alcohol due to the influence it had on youths but they go and shoot Pachinko ads in Japan… I thought they had finally recovered but I guess not.”

Others came to T-ara’s aid saying the ads must have been old or used the T-ara members’ images in an illegal manner.

Core Contents Media has not yet commented on the matter.

121218 T-ara deny exceptional offer for alcohol CF deal so they can keep image of appealing to all ages

 
T-ara have politely denied an exceptional offer for an alcohol advertising deal.

Besides their maknae Areum (19), all of T-ara are adults. According to recent news, idol groups have the second most amount of influence on today's youth and T-ara wanted to make sure they kept their image as an appropriate girl group.

T-ara said, "We want youth to mimic our dances, fashion styles and enjoy us for that instead of cater to encouraging the youth drinking culture. Because of this, we thought it would be inappropriate to advertise publicly for an alcohol brand."

T-ara also said, "In the future, we hope there will be less advertisement appearing to youth encouraging them to drink."

121212 T-ara’s Qri, Eunjung and Big Bang’s Seungri celebrate their birthday today on 12/12/12

December 12, 2012 (12/12/12) is a special day because it’s the last day for a long time until the world will get to see repeating dates again (Unless you’re still around when January 1, 2101 rolls around in about 90 years).

Three idols celebrated their birthday today and these lucky birthday celebrities are none other than T-ara‘s Qri and Eunjung, and Big Bang‘s Seungri.

Qri was born on December 12, 1986, so she turned 26 today (27 in Korea). Bandmate Eunjung was born exactly 2 years after her, and turns 24 today (25 in Korea). Seungri is the youngest out of the trio, born 2 years after Eunjung in 1990, and the maknae of Big Bang turns 22 today (23 in Korea).

121209 T-ara reveal their ideal type of mother and which member's child they'd want to be

I think from amongst the questions asked from the Roly Poly Interview, one question stood out. "If you were born again, whose child would you want to be from amongst the members." Before that, lets ask if you want to become mothers and if so, what is your ideal mother type?

Jiyeon: Like my mother. I want to be a wise parent.

Qri: I also want to be like my mother. Doing everything, even that which is invisible. Because I don't want to spoil my kids, I dont mind being strict.

Soyeon: I want to be the opposite of my mother. My mother exhausted me in work. She didn't think of me, but her "career of work". She made me do all the housework and raised me by exhausting me. I do want to be a hard working mom, but unlike my mom. Because I want to be a mom who makes her child grow strong.

Boram: I speak as someone who has a sense of friendsihp to my mom. If I give birth to a child, I want to be a mother who is like a friend to it.

Areum: I want to be a mother who is called upon like a friend.

Hyomin: I want to go shopping together, a mom who is a friend. Like a fashionable sistar. Even friends of my child will say "Hyomin okasan [mother] is so young", "you're beautiful!" (laughs)

Eunjung: Me...um, I haven't thought about it.

- Never have imagined it?

Eunjung: Yes. People who are loved. I think I want to give love to other people. I want to be a mother who gives a lot of love.

- Now a question from the readers; if you were born again, whose baby would you want to be. Well everyone?

Jiyeon: For me, Areum. Because I want her white complexion.

Areum: For me, Jiyeon. I'm envious of her small face and pretty skin.

Hyomin: For me Jiyeon. After all she has a cool personality and if someone bad shows up, she'll be his angry opponent.

Eunjung: For me it's Soyeon. She would make me eat my breakfast properly. Since she is strong, she would properly protect her child.

Boram: I also go for Soyeon.

Soyeon: Really? (laughs)

Boram: Because you're polite, that's why you will properly raise a child.

Soyeon: For me Eunjung. She acts like a mother in the group, I think she is the ideal person, and she is very homely.

Hyomin: Ah~ Skilled at cleaning? Maybe Qri is her own ideal type? (laughs)

Everyone: Ah~

- Does Qri think the same as the other members? (laughs)

Qri: Yep, myself. (smile)

Everyone: Hahaha!

Jiyeon: Qri would raise a strong child. She can do anything if she puts the effort. She would raise it to have an independant spirit. Though I wouldn't want her as a mom. (smile)

- She would be strict, that's why. (smile)

Soyeon: Who would be my mom? Boram would be bad. (laughs)

Boram: Why?!

Soyeon: I'm worried about Boram changing diapers. She would feed me a lot of food, then I would become fat.

121206 T-ara and others awarded at the ’20th Korea Cultural Entertainment Awards’

On December 6th, many artists attended the ‘20th Korea Cultural Entertainment Awards‘.

The award ceremony was held on the 6th at the Seoul 63 City Building on Yeouido island. The main ceremony gave out six Daesangs, including the ‘Cultural Entertainment Daesang‘, ‘Traditional Song Daesang‘, ‘New Generation Song Daesang‘, ‘Broadcast Daesang‘, ‘Movie Daesang‘, and ‘Culture Daesang‘.

At the award ceremony, T-ara won ‘Best Idol Group‘, while D-Unit and LEDApple won ‘Best Rookie Idol Group‘.

Block B and Aurora won the ‘Popular Idol Award‘, TOUCH won the ‘Teen Rookie Idol Group‘, andSon Dam Bi took home the ‘Best Rookie Award‘ not for her singing career, but for her acting in ‘Light and Shadow‘.

D-Unit took to their me2day after winning their award and wrote, “Hello~~ We won the rookie award at the 20th Korea Cultural Entertainment Awards today!!! We weren’t even thinking about it, but we received an award, so we were so surprised ㅜㅜ Thank you so much to all our fans who suffered because of us! ㅜ We’ll take it as the whip that’s telling us to work harder from now on, and be even better! 121206 T-ara offered 100 billion KRW to hold a Southeast Asia Tour

Girl group T-ara was recently offered a substantial amount of money to hold a Southeast Asia Tour in 2013.

T-ara’s agency announced on December 5, “T-ara has been offered to embark on a project that is worth approximately 10 billion Korean won (about $10 million). Local concert officials offered to send the group in places such as China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.”

However, it was revealed that T-ara members are debating whether to take up this offer or not as they are currently planning on doing promotions in Korea and Japan next year. The agency added that the Southeast Asia Tour will be decided around January, 2013.

1. Like The First Time. I was absent for one week and there was a lot I didn't know. So a new lead was put in. We also did rapping and it was brave feeling I enjoyed.

5. I bought six shoes. They're the same design. Stars, Wakka, Sonica (brands), I bought all of them.
